Moonlit Surfers Paradise

This is another 30 second exposure job, using the steps down to the beach as a resting point. There was also a lot fewer stars to be found in the sky, what with all the light streaming off the hotels, shops and attractions just across the road.

Prevelly Beach at Night

These photographs were taken later the same night in pitch blackness, using a 30 second exposure to capture the view. Yes, that is the moon in the top photograph.

Perth Cityscape

After the madness of Dubai, arriving in Perth was a welcome relief. Here's the downtown area photographed at nightfall from Kings Park.

Manchester by Night: Spinningfields

I've spent a couple of night's exploring round Spinningfields and it keeps reminding me of something my sister told me once. Apparently, if you were to visit one of the business districts in London on the weekend, you'd find everything shut because no-one visited the area except during office hours. Spinningfields isn't quite that bad, but it's close. There doesn't seem to be any pubs or bars in the area, just chain-restaurants (you can see most of them listed in the photograph below), which are already to be found in other area's of the city. It isn't a through-way from one part of the city to another and there are no attractions to make people visit the area. It's a bit of a ghost-town really.

Does anyone know if there's a grand-scheme in place to change it all around?

Further Adventures Up on High

Following on from this previous post, this time I've been up multi-storey's in Spinningfields and Oxford Road. I remembered to bring my tripod this time, which I don't use a great deal and it was an interesting experience trying to get it position to capture the shots I wanted.
