More Feeding Time

This hungry Emu just loved to be fed by hand - shame the metal fence got in the way. Didn't stop him though. I especially like the trail of crumbs in the final photo.

Feeding Time

I spotted this scene whilst having lunch. The mother Sparrow had earlier been busy picking up discarded chips and taking them up on top of a stone wall. It was then I noticed her feeding her two little chicks (the second is just out of shot) and managed to grab this little sequence.

Sea Lions at play

Another daily scheduled event at the zoo is the feeding and training of the Sea Lions. Waving the crowds and performing tricks appear to be mandatory.

Unhappy

Don't you just want to give him a hug?

Penguin Parade

The Penguins get a daily march around the grassy hill at the zoo, trailing after a bucket full of fish. It's a bit of free-for-all for the fishy treats, with seagulls flying in to help themselves as well.

Lurking just beneath the water, this Mississippi Aligator sure is curious. about what's going on around his enclosure.

The Otters of Conway Water Gardens

A recent visit to North Wales brought about a wealth of wildlife photography both at the Conway Water Gardens and Welsh Mountain Zoo. I'll be running them as a series of posts on an hourly basis both today and Thursday.

Mandarin Ducks

This rather striking creature is a male Mandarin Duck. I've never seen one before spotting this little fellow bobbing along on a Hampstead Heath pond, prodly displaying his golden mane.

The Deer of Tatton Park

I spent a pleasant afternoon wandering in the grounds of Tatton Park not too long ago. The park is filled with wildlife, with it's most visible inhabitants are the deer that roam throughout. You can find more photographs of them here over on flickr.
