River Tib Wall Decoration

Adding to the every-growing list of "Things-I've-walked-past-hundreds-of-times-and-only-just-noticed", I was walking past these steps on the corner where Tib Street crosses Thomas/Hilton Street in the Northern Quarter when I noticed the wave design running down and around the corner. The text reads "River Tib, River Tib. A Mighty Rill, A Surging Ditch".

John Street Birds

I always love the moment when a new aspect of the city is revealed to me. After reading this post over on Skyliner, I realised I've walked up and down John Street countless times, but had never noticed the birds overhead. Just look at them all - aren't they beautiful?

Northern Quarter Banners

I'm curious to learn more about the banners currently strung up along the wire fence on Church Street in the Northern Quarter. I'm assuming they're linked to the 20/20 student exhibition but haven't been able to find any information at present. There's also other bit of artwork dotted around the street which I've included at the bottom.

Can anyone help me out?

Advances in Mathematics at The Castle Hotel

Shortly after taking in the exhibition launch, I found myself in the Northern Quarter at a loose end only to realise that Advances in Mathematics were playing at The Castle Hotel. So I bobbed on over to take a few shots of them in action.

Clockwork Radio VR Code

A rather minimalist sticker-design.  I'm assuming it takes you here. It would help if I had a VR-scanner-capable phone to check.

I Heart Shite Music

Photographed in the Northern Quarter. Someone clearly wasn't happy with the selection on offer at N4 Loves U.

Unknown Hilton Street Mosaic

As I was taking this photograph, an elderly lady wandered up and asked - who is that? I had to admit I've got no idea. Any takers? A quick bit of googling provides no answers.

Also, I've been busy documenting this year's Family Friendly Film Club Weekender over the past few days. You can have a look at them here - I'm especially pleased with this one.

Cineheroes

I can honestly say I'd never noticed this Tardis doorway on Lever Street. From I can find out online Cineheroes opened back in March of this year, so clearly I either don't walk down Lever Street much or I'm in my own little world most of the time. I'm not sure which it is.

Advances in Mathematics at Night and Day

And I'm back. The editing took a bit longer than expected PLUS I've already been busy heading out and about round Manchester with my camera. Here are Advances in Mathematics (and band I've photographed many times before) performing at Night and Day on Monday night. Apparently the zoom lens is "frankly, a little creepy. It sees too much. It gets too close. I feel dirty. I like it."
