Human Sculptures on La Ramblas, Barcelona

The new year period was spent over in Barcelona with a new Canon Powershot A560 in my hands because I didn't losing my DSLR to a pick-pocket. It worked out quite well, though I was suprised how blurry some of shots turned out. Probably my lack of experience with it.

Anyhow, below is a collection of a few of the human sculptures to be found along La Rambla, Barcelona's main avenue and tourist haunt. I especially liked the Alien, which posed for photographs with members of the public by pretending to bite their heads off. The facehuggers as money box is a nice touch too.

What struck me while I watched a couple of them preparing was that it might be interesting to do a project on street artists on La Rambla, finding out where they're from, where they learnt and developed their skills, photographing them practicing and preparing themselves and their costumes. Something for the future perhaps?
