Rock Balancing on Pensarn Beach again

 

Here's the rock balancing photographs I promised on Monday. I'm quite pleased with the height I achieved in the bottom photograph - practice does indeed make perfect.

I fell out of the habit of writing blog entries a couple of weeks back and it's taken me until now to start getting back into the grove. Not that I haven't been busy, as you might notice from the many and various tags under every post now along with the updating to the location map.

So I'll be posting new stuff on here all this week along with trying to get started on a couple of ideas I've got floating around my head.

I went home to North Wales over the Easter weekend to see the family and have a break from the big city. What I love to do while I'm there is to pop down to Pensarn beach for the sunset. I was never one to go swimming in the sea when I was a kid but I do enjoy watching the sun settling down for the evening - It's a beautiful sight to behold if you're there at the right time.

I also did some quick Rock Balancing - but I'm saving those photos for a separate entry.

Rock Balancing on Pensarn Beach

Time to catch up on what I did over xmas and the new year. Boxing day found me down on Pensarn Beach with the family. The idea was to go for a walk along the cycle path that leads from there to Llanddulas but we ended up stacking stones and then knocking them from a distance. Here's a few of our temporary creations:

And then, after the sun had sunk behind Tan-y-Gopa, came the following, all by my fair hand.

I did leave these all standing but I suspect they were knocked down shortly thereafter by the family having a BBQ (?!) further along the beach.
