Manchester Christmas Lights Switch On 2011

Here's a few snaps taken during Thursday night's event. Last time I went back in 2008, I noted it was difficult to see the show onstage but the fireworks display at the end was spectacular - the same goes for this year's as well.

Afoxé

Saturday, I was photographing the Afoxé parade organised by Global Grooves. Put together in just 4 weeks, the event involved 60+ dancers, singers and musicians in full costume parading along Market street before performing outside the Manchester Jazz Festival stand in Albert Square. Out and About in Manchester: Carpet of Flowers

The half-completed Carpet of Flowers at 5pm on Monday. There was supposed to be an evening volunteering session from 5 to 8pm but unfortunately that had to cancelled due to there being no more flowers.
