The In the Rain series was created specifically for The Day The Rain Turned To Paint exhibition in Hulme's Zion Arts Centre. Remembering an old photo of mine shot through a car window on a rainy night in which the lights seemed to wash together (here it is), I decided this would be a perfect way of depicting the titular subject matter, using the distinctive lighting of Rusholme to create the same effect.
